SINGING 1992 : Sixth Prize
Dutch soprano Marisca Mulder studied with Mya Besselink at the Conservatorium Maastricht and Catherine Green in New York. She has won prizes at the Cristina Deutekom Competition in Enschede (The Netherlands) and the Queen Elisabeth Competition. After graduating, she became part of the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper.
At the Staatstheater Kassel she elaborated her repertoire with the roles of Pamina, Ilia, Norina, Rosina, Sophie and Gilda. She has also performed regularly at the Dutch Opera (Karolka, Tebaldo and Frasquita) and at the Opera Zuid (The Netherlands) as Gretel. At the Erfurter Theater she has sung Violetta, Rusalka, Jenny (Mahagonny), Kätchen (Carl Rheintalers, Das Kätchen von Heilbronn) and Antonia. As a singer of Lied and oratorio she has appeared in Venice (Schubert-Recital for RAI), Brussels (Monnaie Opera), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw) and Münich (Gasteig).
Marisca Mulder has worked with conductors such as Riccardo Chailly, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Marc Soustrot, Adam Fischer, Michel Swierczewski, Friedrich Haider, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Wolfgang Trommer, Ingo Metzmacher and Edo de Waart, and with directors such as Willy Decker, Richard Jones, Andreas Homoki, Jürgen Flimm, Saskia Boddeke, Peter Greenaway, Ivo van Hove, Sebastian Baumgarten, Guy Montavon, Wolfram Mehring and Istvan Szabó.
