PIANO 2016 : Sixth Prize
A graduate of the Istituto Musicale Vincenzo Bellini in Catania (Sicily), Alberto Ferro is currently studying at the Accademia Pianistica Siciliana under Epifanio Comis. In 2015, he was second laureate of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (Bolzano) and a laureate of the Arcangelo Speranza International Competition (Taranto), at which he was awarded the prize for the youngest Italian finalist and the Audience Prize. Also in 2015, he won the Concorso Nazionale Pianistico Premio Venezia. He has performed in Moscow (Tchaikovsky Conservatory), Copenhagen (Charlottenborg Palace), Rome (Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia), Munich (Münchner Künstlerhaus), Brussels (Bozar), and Leipzig (Gewandhaus), and has played under conductors such as Alexander Prior, Arvo Volmer, and Franz Schottky. Alberto Ferro has taken part in many masterclasses given by Vladimir Ashkenazy, Violetta Egorova, and Leslie Howard.Teachers
