VIOLIN 2024 : Sixth Prize
Minami Yoshida made her orchestral debut at the age of 12 with the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra. She went on to perform with all the major Japanese orchestras as well as with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, the NDR Radiophilharmonie conducted by Andrew Manze and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Slatkin. After studying at the Toho Gakuen School, under Koichiro Harada among others, she continued her training at the New England Conservatory under Miriam Fried and then under Kyoko Takezawa at the Tokyo College of Music. In the past decade, she has distinguished herself at the Sibelius Competition (2015), the Concours musical international de Montréal (2016), the Joseph Joachim Competition in Hanover (2021) and the International Competition of Indianapolis (2022).
