Luke Hsu trained at the Shepherd School of Music under Cho-Liang Lin, at the New England Conservatory under Donald Weilerstein, and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Rodney Friend. He is currently studying at the Mozarteum in Salzburg under Pierre Amoyal. He has won a number of prizes at international competitions such as the Indianapolis, the Premio Paganini, the Wieniawski, the Michael Hill, the Isang Yun, and the Montreal. Luke Hsu has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including those of Houston, Dallas, Indianapolis, Auckland, Odense, and Poznań and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, under eminent conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and Hugh Wolff. He is a member of the Beacon Street Trio, founded at the New England Conservatory, and has composed pieces for string quartet, harp, flute and viola trio, and mezzo-soprano and electronic instruments.
