PIANO 2016 : First Prize
After giving his first concert at the age of four, Lukáš Vondráček
made his first international tour six years later and his Carnegie Hall debut at sixteen. A graduate of the New England Conservatory, where he was taught by Hung-Kuan Chen, he has won the Hilton Head, San Marino, and Unisa international competitions, as well as a Special Prize at the Van Cliburn International Competition. Lukáš Vondráček has given more than a thousand concerts on five continents, in venues such as the Kennedy Center (Washington), the Centre for Fine Arts (Brussels), Victoria Hall (Singapore), Suntory Hall (Tokyo), and Sydney Opera House. He has played with orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the NHK Symphony, the National Orchestra of Belgium, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, under Marin Alsop, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Christoph Eschenbach, and Paavo Järvi.
