PIANO 2003 : Sixth Prize
Chinese pianist Jin Ju has been awarded at the Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow), China National Piano Competition, Beethoven Society Competition in London, UNISA International Piano Competition, Theodor Leschetizky International Piano Competition in Taiwan, Romanian International Music Competition in Bucarest. She has performed on the five continents, in the Konzerthaus of Berlin and Vienna, the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts, Sala Verdi (Milano), Teatro della Pergola (Florence), Sala Maffeiana (Verona) etc. She regularly plays in all the major music halls of China and has performed in the Forbidden City (Beijing).
As a soloist Jin ju has collaborated with the BBC Orchestra, the Belgian National Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, the Oslo Symphony Orchestra, the South Africa New Philharmonic, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macao Symphony Orchestra, the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philarmonia Orchestra, the China National Symphony Orchestra and the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, among others.
In 2008 the Chinese State Television CCTV has realized a long documentary about her life and artistry. In 2010 followed another documentary by the same channel about her Italian tour with Virtuosi Italiani.
Jin Ju’s integral recording of Debussy’s Etudes, released on CD by the label Frame, has received enthusiastic reviews by important critics of specialised journals. Her recording of the Yellow River Piano Concerto together with the Macao Symphony Orchestra has reached such a wide circulation in China that it has been added among the “first 10 world successes of classical music”. Her interpretations of music by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and List have been recorded in a DVD published by Multigram Domo Video. In 2010 she has signed an exclusive recording contract with the German label MDG.
Jin Ju is a faculty member at the Central Conservatory in Beijing. She has taught at the Royal Northern Music College in Manchester and has held numerous Master Classes in China, Europe and the United States. Presently she is professor at the International Piano Academy of Imola. Her future engagements include a tour with the I Virtuosi Italiani performing Chopin’s two piano concertos, a tour of China in solo recitals and with the Macao Symphony Orchestra, and other tours and concerts in England, USA, Argentine, France and Germany.
