A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, Dayoon You is currently studying under Kolja Blacher at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. He was awarded the Kronberg Academy Special Prize at the ARD Competition in Munich and was a finalist in the Wieniawski Competition in Poznań. More recently, he won Second Prize at the Long-Thibaud Competition. Also active in chamber music, he won the Mozart Competition in Salzburg with the Arete Quartet and has already collaborated with the Novus String Quartet, the Jerusalem Quartet and the Chianti Ensemble. As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras such as the Münchener Kammerorchester, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Poznań Philharmonic and the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra. Dayoon You has also played as an additional musician with the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
