SINGING 1996 : Sixth Prize
After graduating, Dutch soprano Anja Vincken started teaching at the Maastricht Conservatorium and performing at the Staatstheater Kassel. A laureate of several competitions, she has appeared in Cologne, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and Essen and was part of the company of Oper Bonn. Her major roles are Countess Almaviva, Donna Elvira, Fiordiligi, Agathe, Freia, Micaëla and Mimi. She is also in demand as a concert vocalist. Since 2004-2005 she sings at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, starring as Jenny (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny), Countess Mariza, Alice (Falstaff), Iphigénie (Iphigénie en Tauride), Ismene (Antigonae), Leonora (Il trovatore), Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and in the title role in Tosca.
