VIOLON 2019 : Lauréat
Née à Séoul, Ji Won Song
a commencé ses études musicales avec Nam-Yun Kim et Bon-Jiu Koo à la Korea National University of Arts. Elle les a poursuivies au Cleveland Institute of Music, au Curtis Institute of Music, au New England Conservatory et à la Juilliard School, auprès de David Cerone, Ida Kavafian, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Victor Danchenko, Donald Weilerstein et Soovin Kim. Ji Won Song s’est produite avec le Philadelphia Orchestra, le Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra et le Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, sous la direction de chefs tels que Rossen Milanov, Augustin Dumay et Nanse Gum. Elle a remporté des prix lors de nombreux concours : le concours Isang Yun en Corée, le Leopold Mozart à Augsbourg, le concours China International à Qingdao, le concours pour instruments à cordes Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld, le concours Schadt et le Tibor Varga à Sion. Au Curtis Institute, elle a également reçu le Milka Violin Artist Prize.
