Highlights in the current 2022/23 season include roles such as Conte d’Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro and his debuts as Ford in Falstaff and Dandini in La Cenerentola at the Staatstheater Nürnberg, where he is a member of the ensemble. He will also make his debut at the Opéra national de Paris, in a ballet production of Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer). Numerous concerts and recitals will take him to Hanover, Brussels, Paris, Tallinn, Stuttgart, Barcelona, Budapest, Aix-en-Provence, Cambridge and Tokyo, to name but a few.
Last season he debuted at the Staatsoper Berlin and La Scala Milano, and with the Wiener Symphoniker at the Musikverein Wien. Other highlights included performances at Wigmore Hall in London, Boulez Saal in Berlin, in Bayreuth, Padova, and Cambridge. Previously, Hasselhorn has been a member of the Vienna State Opera for two seasons.
His second CD with pianist Joseph Middleton, „Glaube, Hoffnung, Liebe“ with Lieder by Franz Schubert, has been released earlier this year to critical acclaim. In 2020, they recorded the Schumann album „Stille Liebe“ together, also under the Harmonia Mundi label. This recording was elected the best Lieder CD of 2020 at the Prix Caecilia (Belgium). His first two CDs “Nachtblicke”, and the highly acclaimed “Dichterliebe²” with pianist Boris Kusnezow, were released in 2014 and 2018 with GWK RECORDS.
