The history of the Queen Elisabeth Competition goes back over 75 years! Our archives contain thousands of photographs and documents exchanged between candidates, members of the jury, conductors, etc. and the administration of the Competition down the years; hundreds of tapes, discs, and other recordings, both audio and video; dozens of original scores composed specifically for the Competition; and programmes, posters, medals, and many other objects. All of these items make up the memory of our organisation that began its life back in 1937.
A few years ago, work began on conserving and digitising these archives, with a view to sharing this wealth of material with the general public. We invite you to explore some of this treasure trove, free of charge, in our Digital Archives. Currently, the website is a work in progress. New material from our archives is added regularly. If you would like to support this ongoing project, your donation would be very welcome!

These archive documents have been made available thanks to the support of a number of special partners, including the Baillet Latour Fund, the WFIMC, the National Lottery, the RTBF, the VRT, and Sonuma.
